Raise your hand if you are OVER Halloween candy in your house!

After the first couple of days of letting the kids languish in sugar-powered joy, I am ready to get rid of every bite-size candy bar and snack-size candy in my house.

If you're looking for a quick way to get rid of all that Halloween candy, we have the answer! Leftover candy cookies.

Best of all, you can freeze these cookie dough balls to thaw and bake any time you want.

Leftover Candy Cookies

Makes approx. 24-30 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2- 2 cups leftover chocolate candy, cut into small pieces (crushed sandwich cookies are a great option, too!)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Unwrap and crush or cut up a mix of leftover chocolate candy. You can also add crushed up sandwich cookies and chocolate or peanut butter candy pieces.
  3. Add flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and oatmeal in a small bowl.
  4. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla in a separate large bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  5. Stir in candy.
  6. Drop by tablespoon on a cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 9-11 minutes.

You can also roll into balls and freeze for later!
